Review: About a Girl (Tess Brookes Series Book 1) by Lindsey Kelk

I was apprehensive of reading this new series by Lindsey Kelk as I enjoyed her I Heart series so much and didn’t think she would be able to produce another book that compared.

Blurb:

The summer bestseller from the immensely popular Lindsey Kelk
Tess Brookes has always been a Girl with a Plan. But when the Plan goes belly up, she’s forced to reconsider.
After accidently answering her flatmate Vanessa’s phone, she decides that since being Tess isn’t going so well, she might try being Vanessa. With nothing left to lose, she accepts Vanessa’s photography assignment to Hawaii – she used to be an amateur snapper, how hard can it be? Right?
But Tess is soon in big trouble. And the gorgeous journalist on the shoot with her, who is making it very clear he’d like to get into her pants, is an egotistical monster. Far from home and in someone else’s shoes, Tess must decide whether to fight on through, or ‘fess up and run…

I finally got around to reading the book last month and am a little bit annoyed with myself that I didn’t read it sooner!
I am glad that I finally bit the bullet to read this book as I enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to. As with all of her other chick lit books, Lindsey kept this book funny and light which made it an easy read once I had picked it up I didn’t want to put it down. The characters were just right for the book and their personalities felt as though they could be real people you would meet on a night out.
If you are going on holiday and are looking for a book to throw into your suitcase for by the pool I would one hundred percent recommend this book.
I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
