Spoken Word Poem – Silence

Silence is the loudest thing I’ve heard
As my brain is hazy and my mind is blurred
People tell me I don’t seem myself today
But I can’t put into words the feelings I want to say
I can’t explain why my mind is on fire but my heart is cold
People ask me whas wrong like it’s a secret I haven’t told

Silence is the most powerful thing someone can say
It’s like standing in a room full of noise but the song doesnt play
It’s confusing but so straight forward
It’s comforting but awkward
Do you break it
Or pretend it’s okay and fake it

The silence is where my demons sleep
And upon me they creep
Tearing me down to a place I’d ling forgotten
And then I’m sat in silence feeling like I’ve hit rock bottom
